Our FAQs

In this section, we have compiled some of the frequently asked questions that we’ve received. If there’s something that we missed, please reach out and a member of our staff will get in touch with you.

What Years are currently taught?

Novoschool caters for Years 7-10 in 2026, expanding to Yr 11 in 2027 and Yr 12 in 2028.
 

What are Novoschool students like?

Students who attend Novoschool tend to be self motivated, curious, learners. They have wide interests and love exploring new topics. They enjoy the challenge of learning and demonstrating what they have learned through various artefacts and projects.

What are the fees?

Annual Fees are $11,400 per year in 2026. This is fully inclusive of tuition, meals, supplies and local excursions.

What about meals?

At Novoschool we believe that healthy meals are integral to learning. Therefore morning tea and lunches are provided for all learners each day.  In addition, young people have opportunities to be involved in the planning and preparation for meals. Everyone will learn how to plan, cook, serve and clean up when it comes to eating.

What is not included in the fees?

There are various extended experiences that are available throughout the year as an option, including overseas trips, which are offered at an extra cost.

What about technology?

Novoschool is a BYOT (bring your own technology) school. This means that learners should be prepared to bring a laptop of their own choice.

Where exactly is the school?
Can I schedule a school visit?

Novoschool is located at 125 Bull St, Newcastle West. You are welcome to contact the school to arrange a tour.

What are the opening hours for the school?

Key learning hours are between 8:45am and 3:10pm. This is when students are expected to be onsite. In addition, understanding the complexity of our local families, Novoschool is open from 7:30am to 4:30pm each day as a safe space for learning for enrolled students to spend time in.

Are you affiliated with any group?

No. Novoschool was founded by an experienced group of local educators who believe Newcastle has room for a progressive secondary, secular option, and is not affiliated with any religion or group.​

​

Will students be eligible for the ATAR? Will they get an HSC?

Yes. Our roadmap projects that our first HSC class will commence in 2028. Our students will be very prepared for that important stage of their education.
